It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sherwood Lee Philpott of Axton, Virginia, born in Bassett, Virginia, who passed away on May 2, 2022, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Rudolph Philpott; and his sister Vickie Gibson. He is survived by: his wife Judy W. Philpott; his daughters, Deitra Philpott Cassell (Tim) and Chasity Denton (Jody); his grandchildren, Sarah Cassell (Bryan), Timothy Cassell (Shayna Gann), Christian Cassell and Caleb Denton; his great grandchild Elivia Cassell; his niece Tammy Stone; his great-niece Jenna Clark; and his great-nephew Jacob Martin.
