She is survived by: her son John Raymond Shaffer of Virginia; her stepdaughter Sue Babb; her grandchildren, William Jr. Babb and Angelia Thomas; her great grandchildren, Johnathan, Morgan, Zachary and Mason; and her sister Edna Collins of Virginia. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She organized and participated in numerous charity efforts throughout her life.
