He is survived by: his son Barry Gittman of Brodnax; his half-siblings, Herman Gittman of Chase City, Mae Walker of South Hill and Betty Thompson of South Hill; and his niece Nancy Crowder of La Crosse.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 23rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory (1504 N Mecklenburg Ave, South Hill, VA 23970). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 at the Crestview Memorial Park (18599 US-1, La Crosse, VA 23950).
