Barbara Byrd Draper Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 28, 2025, at the age of 96, Barbara Byrd Draper of Bassett, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Harden Byrd and Essie Pinkard Byrd; her sons, Samuel Byrd Draper, Leslie Allen Draper and William Robert Draper; her brothers, Rev. Earl E. Byrd, Sr., Lloyd Byrd and Herman Byrd; her niece Barbara Lee "Babs" Jarrett Priddy; and her great grandchildren, Jerry Lee Draper and Sybil Kaleesi Draper.
She is survived by: her son David Lee Draper; her grandchildren, Leah Tiffany Draper, William Robert Draper, Jr., Carrie Draper Johnson, James Christopher Draper and Samuel Wilson Draper; her great grandchildren, Marrisa Lynn Bryant, Troy William Draper, Preston Lawrence Draper, Felicity Iris Draper, Piper Aurora Draper, Oliver Isaiah Draper, Cameron David Draper, Noah James Draper and John Beck Johnson; her sister Margaret B. Jarrett; and her sister-in-law Merle H Byrd.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM and from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bassett Funeral Service (3665 Fairystone Park Hwy, Bassett, VA 24055). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at the Roselawn Burial Park (103 Clearview Dr, Martinsville, VA 24112).
