He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Douglas Manns and Katherine Stanley Manns; and his siblings, Harry "June" Manns, Jr., J. B. "Pete" Manns, Virginia "Libo" Elizabeth Manns and Gabriella "Gaye" Manns Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Ann Hairston Manns; his daughter Stephanie Hairston; his son-in-law Lloyd Hairston of Martinsville, Virginia; his sister Dianne Mitchell of Axton; his grandson Malik Hairston (Raeven Hickman) of Charlotte; and his goddaughter Dr. Susan Tinsley Gooden (Basil Gooden) of Richmond. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
