He was predeceased by: his father Paul Franklin Ray; his granddaughter Rachel AnnMarie McHone; and his parents-in-law, Bill and Rachel Hancock. He is survived by: his wife Ann Hancock Ray; his children, Lisa Ray DeHart (Chris) of Spencer, Angie Ray McHone (Jon) of Spencer, Virginia and Jason Ray of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Jonathan McHone (Sidney Lynch) of Martinsville, Macayla Ray O'Dell (Davy) of Martinsville, Katie Fretwell (Randy Walker) of Greensboro, Zackary McHone of Spencer and Evan McHone of Spencer, Virginia; his great grandchildren, Kenzie O'Dell, Callie McHone and James Reid O'Dell; his brother Richard Ray (Pat) of Salisbury; his aunt Shirley Rea of Stuart, Virginia; and his niece Tracie Ray Morse of Concord.
