She was predeceased by: her husband John David Hylton (J. D.); her parents, James Edgar Holley and Doris Hylton Holley; her siblings, James Holley (J. B.), Lonnie Holley and Roma Carter; and her brother-in-law Ronnie Cobler.

She is survived by: her sons, Terry Peters of Roanoke, Samuel Peters of Roanoke, Daniel Hylton (Tracy) of Drakes Branch and Justin Hylton (Jessica) of Bassett; her stepmother Faye Holley; her siblings, Rocky Holley (Gail) of Henry, Johnny Holley of Ferrum, Brenda Hale of Ferrum and Deborah Cobler (Deb) of Collinsville; her sisters-in-law, Ramona Holley and Patricia Holley; and her grandmother Savannah Hylton. She is also survived by great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or God's Pit Crew in her honor.
