He is survived by: his wife Donna; his sisters, Shirley Goad (Ray), Margaret Lawson (Dean), Jean Shorter (George) and Jane Hawks (Larry); his nieces and nephews, Jane Marie Stevens, Karen Kendrick, Bradley Harris, Deana Parker, Leslie Shorter, Richard Shorter, Patrick Hawks and Brittany Hawks; his great-niece Charlotte Pearl Witt; and his friend Dean Lawson. He is also survived by 3 uncles, 3 aunts and numerous cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Valley Drive Baptist Church (889 Valley Dr, Fieldale, VA 24089). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
