He was predeceased by: his parents, Garcie Kermit Scott and Bessie Mae Brogan Scott; his wife Margaret Dewese Scott; his sons, Garnett Scott and Olin Scott; his stepson Thomas W. Royal Jr.; and his brothers, Dwight Scott, Danny Scott and David Scott.
He is survived by: his children, Eric Scott, Ellen Harris (Randy), Anna Collins (John), Jennifer Scott (Howard) and Beverly Pace (Clay); and his siblings, Bobby Scott, Larry Scott, Frances Allen and Janey DeHart. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren (144 Mt Hermon Church Rd, Bassett, VA 24055). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at the Of the Brethren Cemetery.
