He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Schofield Allen; and his sister Doris Butler. He is survived by: his son Allen (Anne Bickford) of Bedford; his grandchildren, Nicholas Marshall (Raz Edwards), Molly Marshall (Greg Freeburn) of Stow, MA and Evan Marshall (Molly Kazin Marshall) of Marlborough, MA; his great grandchildren, Louise, Malcolm, Ada Freeburn and Sylvie Marshall; his sister Louise Hotz of Weymouth; his sister-in-law Abigail Pereira of Rockville, MD; Don. He is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First Parish.
In lieu of flowers, Don's family suggests planting a tree or contributing to First Parish Unitarian Bedford, Massachusetts Audubon, or the Union of Concerned Scientists.
