He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Earnest Murray, Sr. and Jane King Murray; his son Wade Duval Murray; his grandson Charles Joseph "Tripp" Laughon, III; his nephew David M. Copeland; and his grandfather Virginian.
He is survived by: his wife Rosalie Langford Murray; his daughters, Melinda Bhandari (Harish) and Jennifer Kovel (Jeff); his stepson Chris Tharp (Sarah); his grandchildren, Guy Walker Laughon (Allison), Lola Kovel and Violet Kovel; his stepgrandsons, John Tharp and Ted Tharp; his sister Sue Craghead; and his niece Allison Karnes (TT). He is also survived by several grandnieces and a grandnephew.
