He is survived by: his wife Polly Ann Rixey; his children, Bettina Dinkins, Herbert Jr. Dinkins, Joann Dinkins, John Dinkins and Anthony Dinkins; his grandchildren, Jawanna Ellis, Shantay Dinkins, Donald Christopher McCann, Chrishanna Simms, Demetria Dinkins, Reniya Dinkins and Desmond Dinkins; his stepmother Bertha Dinkins; his brothers, Willie Dinkins, Joseph Dinkins, Frierson Dinkins, Anthony B. Dinkins and Richmond Dinkins; his stepbrother Amaziah Diggs; his sisters, Ruby Mae McLeod, Mary Sanders, Rose Grant, Pearl Armstrong, Parolyn Dinkins, Ann Heyward, Emma Jackson and Nancy Dinkins; his daughters-in-law, Darlene Dinkins and Gloria Dinkins; and his grandson-in-law Troy Simms.
