We are sad to announce that, on May 1, 2023, at the age of 91, John D. Bower in Bedford, Virginia, born in Westfield, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathryn W. Bower (Kivisto) and John Mitchell Bower; his former wife Mandaville Lucille Nance; his brothers, James M. Bower and William L. Bower; and his son Johnny Bower.
He is survived by: his close friend Edna Curry of Brandon; his children, Anne Bower Travis (Chris) of Flora, MS and Paul Bower (Sarah) of Charlottesville, VA; his daughter-in-law Bondee Bower of Vaughan, MS; his grandchildren, Brant (Mollie), Hunter, Adam, Zach, John, Pierce and Lilly; his great grandchildren, Landon, Lyric, Emerson and Presly; his niece Kathy Bower Thomas; his great-nephews, Justin and Clay; his nephew Robert Bower; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Austin and Lauren; his nephew Ed; his great-nephew Mitchell; Michelle, Haley, Amber (Jacob) and Maylee.
Donations may be made to the University of MS Medical Center John D. Bower School of Population Health; the Bower Center for the Performing Arts in Bedford, Virginia; the Salvation Army, or any other inspiring charitable entity.
