He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alex Sims and Janie Harrison Sims; his siblings, Billy Sims, Jimmy Sims, Gary Sims and Cindy Sims Mahaffey; and his grandson Elijah Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Cocke Sims; his children, Kenneth Wayne "Kenny" Sims, Jr., Jason Dwayne Sims (Denise), Angela Sims, Ryan Sims (Ashley) and Eric Sims (Samantha); his grandchildren, Logan, Carsen, Ashton, Caleb, Chevy, Carl, Louis, Chelsea, Carmen, Chase and Caroline; and his brother Mike Sims (Laura).
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Walnut Street Chapel (1235 Walnut St, Bedford, VA 24523). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
