She is survived by: her children, Lisa Higdon (Rodney) and Peter Powanda (Sandy); her granddaughters, Emma and Samantha Powanda; and her sister Shirley Waller.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Tharp Funeral Home Chapel (320 N Bridge St, Bedford, VA 24523).
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to Good Samaritan Hospice at 4751 Cove Road NW, Roanoke, VA 24017.
