She was predeceased by: her husband Jimmy Smith; her parents, Herbert Turpin and Elizabeth Turpin; her sisters, Pauline Penn and Nellie Cornelius; and her grandson Brash Smith.

She is survived by: her children, Carol Patterson (Ralph), Mark Smith (Kim) and Darrell Smith (Tammie); her sisters, Shirley Richardson and Faye Allen (Bob); and her grandchildren, Elizabeth Tuck, Ryan Jay (Melanie), Kirah Smith, Casey Smith, Bryar Smith, Brandon Patterson (Kristi), Daniel Patterson (Tamara) and Garrett Patterson. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
