Shirley Long McDaniel Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 7, 2025, Shirley Long McDaniel in Bedford, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Shirley farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Shirley is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father William Barnett Long; her grandparents, Jeremiah Myers Walters and Cora Belle Early; her mother Florence; her children, Don McDaniel, Carol Broesamle and Rhonda Arthur (Tim Arthur); her grandson Timothy Arthur; and her sisters, Charlotte Linkous, Barbara Sumner and Lena Mae Smith. She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Spring Hill Cemetery (3000 Fort Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24501).
