She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Proctor and Jessie B. Proctor; her siblings, Martha Butterworth, Edith Irby, Anna Proctor, J. W. Proctor and Kenneth Proctor; her cousin June Rector (Roy); her nephew Mark Butterworth; James L. Viar.
She is survived by: her husband James Leslie Viar; her sons, David (Tammy), Kerry (Bonny) and Matt Viar (Candi); her grandchildren, Nick Viar (Katie), Cori DiGiovanni (Nick), Mindy Tutor (Cody), Josie Viar (Drew) and Jenna Viar; her brother Jack Proctor (Julie); her sister-in-law Betty Proctor (Kenneth); and her pet Hopper. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations sent to the Shady Grove Rescue Squad in Thaxton, VA.
