She was predeceased by: her parents, McKinley Downes and Thelma Downes; and her siblings, Edward, Jeffery Downes, Alice, Melody and Obelia Downes.
She is survived by: her children, Nicole Crystal Jefferson and Charles Edward Harmon, Jr.; her grandchildren, Deshawn Jefferson and Charles Edward Harmon, III; and her sisters, Kendall Chandler, Joy Parker, Deborah Wilkinson and Minnie Milliner. She is also survived by six nephews, seven nieces, numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
Often she would cook meals or various types of pastries, sell them and donate the proceeds to a church that needed assistance with a project.
