He was predeceased by: his parents, John James and Hazel Dolores Crampton Monroe; his wives, Barbara Dillow Monroe and Jean Monroe; his children, Barbara Ellen Monroe and Jeffrey Monroe; and his brothers, William Monroe, John Monroe and Harry Monroe.
He is survived by: his children, Rodney Monroe, Chris Monroe, Sharon Monroe Helmick and Joey Monroe; and his siblings, Marlee Payne and Samuel Monroe. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bunker Hill Brethren in Christ Church (9203 Winchester Ave, Bunker Hill, WV 25413).
