With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ida Jessie Manley Hill Smith of Big Island, Virginia, who passed away on January 27, 2026 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Ida may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Ida touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Manley (Nance) and Lillian Tooley Manley; her husbands, Bob Hill and Robert Smith (Bobby); and her siblings, Thelma Petty, Patria Johnson (Pat), Talmadge Manley and Wesley Manley.
She is survived by: her brothers, Earl Manley (Bo) of Bedford and John Manley (Judy) of Forest; Greg Rogers. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews as well as good friends.
