He was predeceased by: his parents, Lackey Roberts Ayers and Margaret Isabelle Bennington Ayers; and his siblings, Donnie Ayers, Mary Jane Ayers, Mae Ayers and Margaret Ayers.
He is survived by: his siblings, Tommy Ayers (Billie), Bessie Kirby, Bobby Ayers (Brittney), Ann Sage (Kenny) and Sue Ayers (Ralph). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel (7404 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
