He is survived by: his children, Eric Hicks, Lisa (Daniel English), Beth (Patrick Dwyer) and Bill (Magin Maness); his brother Randall Hicks; and his grandchildren, Michael Dwyer (Ashley), Sarah Sloan (Zach), Raechel Clark, Ryan Clark (Annie), Haley Vinson (Tom), Carly Maness, Emily and John Arrington. He is also survived by relatives and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Holding Funeral Home, Inc. (17 E 3rd St N, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219). The lying in state was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the East Stone Gap Baptist Church (3904 E Stone Gap Rd, East Stone Gap, VA 24246). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Riverview Cemetery East Stone.
