The passing of Martha Dress Bean in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, born in Canton, Illinois leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on February 22, 2026 at the age of 74. She is survived by: her husband Stephen Bean; her children, Hannah Ropp (Brian) of Macungie, PA and Lucas Bean (Asha) of Katy, TX; and her grandchildren, Max Bean, Matthew Bean, Henry Ropp and Gracie Ropp.
During COVID-19, she sewed and donated masks, she made baby quilts for families of NICU patients, and her quilts can be found in the homes of many of her loved ones and friends.
