He was predeceased by: his grandson Justin Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Hattie Sue Dove; his children, Robert (Cindy Dove), Rita (Brian Thompson) and Eric Dove; and his grandchildren, Travis Thompson, Adam Dove, Audra Dove and Andrea Dove (Andi). He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McCoy Funeral Home (150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel (150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060).
