We are sad to announce that, on January 13, 2026, at the age of 93, Elizabeth G. (Bette) Mason of Blacksburg, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Elizabeth may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband John G. Mason; and her parents, Frank K. Gayle and Elizabeth P. Gayle. She is survived by: her son Thomas K. Mason; her grandsons, Evan Mason and Collin Mason; her daughter Elizabeth Gayle Stratton (Brentley C. Stratton); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Kent Stratton and Oliver Clarke Stratton; Devin Boehmer.
