He is survived by: his wife Venida Ellen Mason Shields; his children, Timothy Shields (Cheryl) of Thunder Bay, Canada, Tracy Jones (Gene) of Church Road and Tamara Cortez (Hernan) of Midlothian; his grandchildren, Kristen King (Eric), Jesse McKee (Morgan), Dustin Jones, Matthew Shields, Sabrina, Mary and Travis Cortez; his great grandchildren, Caden Thomas, Kolton, Raleigh and Ellie King; his sisters, Janet Gregory of Blackstone, Jean Harris of Glen Allen and Debra Crowe of Red Lion; his cousin Minnie Wilkerson of Victoria; and his brother-in-law Kenny Martin of Stuarts Draft. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
