He was predeceased by : his parents, James Utley and Eva Utley; his wife Velma Matthews Utley; his sister Joanne Utley Wynn; and his children, Linda Mulligan and Donnie Perkinson (Perky).

He is survived by : his children, Nancy Derrick (Bob), Diana Perkinson, Kathy Foote (Willy) and Jaye Utley (Tammy); and his brother George Utley. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nephews.
