He is survived by : his wife Diane; his children, John Epes of Blackstone, VA, Norris Alexander of Richmond, VA and Kierra Butler (Jeremy) of Tennessee; his sister Patricia Hardy of Crewe, VA; his nephew Harless Lewis of Atlanta, GA; his friend Elroy Hicks of Blackstone, VA; his stepchildren, Angelique, Keiona Creel of Tennessee, Cordelia Marshall of Chesterfield, VA, Crystal Alexander of Kenbridge, VA and Angie Lawson (Linwood) of Blackstone, VA; and his siblings-in-law, Jeannette Anderson of Amelia, VA, Ella Johnson of Burkeville, VA, Charlotte Wainwright of Petersburg, VA, James Marshall, Roy Marshall of Burkeville, VA and Jennings Marshall of Greenbay, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Memorial ServiceNew Prospect Baptist Church (3316 Flat Rock Rd, Blackstone, VA 23824).
