She was predeceased by: her sons, M. "Andy" Abernathy, Stevens Simpson and W. Maxey Abernathy; and her sister Jessie Huff. She is survived by: her son James Olan "Red" Abernathy of Blackstone, VA; her grandchildren, Abernathy II (Natasha) of Crewe, VA, Amanda Abernathy of Amelia, VA, Crystal Abernathy of Crewe, VA and W. Maxey Abernathy, Jr. of Blackstone; and her great grandchildren, James Abernathy III, Jacob Abernathy, Laura Bella Abernathy and Willow Abernathy-Link. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
