We announce the death of Samuel Hicks (Blackstone, Virginia), who passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 89. Samuel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his mother Rosa Morgan; his wife Virginia Hicks; and his brothers, Landus Hicks and Robert Rice. He is survived by: his children, Veronica Woodley, Margaret Oulds, Elroy Lewis and Anissa Crawley; his goddaughters, Arelene Edmonds and Joan Knox; his niece Vera Dance; and his cousin Randy Hicks. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Samuel's memory to a charity of your choice, honoring his spirit of giving and his dedication to making the world a better place for those around him.
