He is survived by: his mother Jane Prunty Carter; his wife Mary Alice Dickerson; his children, Cora Dickerson (Issac Coles) of Danville, VA and Dwyane Dickerson (Janie) of Danville, VA; and his siblings, Patricia Carter of Washington, D. C., Ronnie Dickerson (Diane) of Danville, VA, Tony Dickerson of Danville, VA and John Dickerson of Danville, VA. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
