Dorothy Jean Nelson Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 16, 2025, at the age of 67, Dorothy Jean Nelson of Bland, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Levi Nelson and Louise Goins Nelson; and her brother Lewis Shawn Nelson. She is survived by: her sister-in-law Diane Nelson; her nieces and nephews, Jeremy (Grace Nelson), Dakoda Harris, Allen Wood, Alyssa (Jonathan Nelson), Liz Sweet, Kiel Parker and Marie (Luke Gibson); her great-nephews, Shawn Nelson, Owen Gibson and Cooper Gibson; her great-niece Lily Parker; and her close friends, Shelby Taylor and Pearl Belcher.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bastian Church of God (4265 Railroad Trail, Bastian, VA 24314). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Highland Bland Funeral Chapel to assist the family with funeral expenses.
