He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Neil and Sally Mae Perry Earls; and his siblings, John Earls, Doug Earls (Billie), Lorette Asbury (Clyde) and Brenda Bowling (Jack).

He is survived by: his wife Velta Jean Angles Earls; his son Billy Earls, Jr. (Kim) of Hurricane, WV; his grandchildren, Luke Earls of Charlotte and Kelly Thornton of Sugar Land, TX; his great grandchildren, Izzy and Sam Thornton; and his sister-in-law Boots Earls. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
