He was predeceased by : his father Everette; his wife Deborah Sparks; and his brothers, E. C. Sparks, Swanson Sparks and Darrell Sparks.

He is survived by : his sons, Terry Sparks, Herk Sparks, Travis Sparks, Michael Sparks, Jeff Clagg, Randy Sparks and Ernest.
