He is survived by: his children, Minnie Mainhart Lindsey (David) of Charles Town, WV and Dale Edward Mainhart II of Richmond, VA; and his brother Harry Lee Mainhart (Phyllis) of Bluemont. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
