With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John William Horton of Boissevain, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 22, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Horton and Helen Dennis Horton of Tazwell, Virginia.; his daughter Lisa Horton Mitchell; and his sister Patricia Sparks. He is survived by: his wife Mabel Horton; his daughters, Tina Carter of Raleigh, NC and Helen Horton of Blacksburg, VA; his grandson Christopher Carter (Chris) of Raleigh, NC; and his sisters, Flora Horton Sinkford of Tazewell Virginia, Wanda Smith of Tazewell Virginia, Mary Lambright (Reginald) of Tazewell Virginia and Bobbie Sparks of Tazewell Virginia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Heart Association in John's memory.
