He was predeceased by: his parents, George Robert and Susie Jenkins Farmer; his wife Diane Thatcher "Dee" Farmer; and his siblings, Robert W. Farmer and Catherine Elwood Durrett.
He is survived by: his children, G. Dirk Farmer (Vicky), George L. "Chip" Farmer, Jr. (Song), Paige Farmer Jordan (Kevin) and Melissa Farmer Devening (Scott); his grandchildren, George L. "Lin" Farmer III (Jessica), Erin Devening Kovarik (Robert), Sam Jackson Jordan (Karen), Kelsey Farmer Scholl (Tyler), Drew Thatcher Devening, Clancy Jordan Addington (Dustin) and Sheridan Farmer Covington (Nick); his great grandchildren, Knox Farmer, Vera Scholl, Kinsley Kovarik and Annalise Covington; his sisters, Elva Hayden and Lillian Parsell; his siblings-in-law, Diana Thatcher and Tom "Boop" Thatcher; and his close friend Susie Hicks. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
