She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Mae and Samuel Odell Abney; and her siblings, James Donnell Abney, Samuel Odell, Jr. Gladys Abney and Janice Abney.

She is survived by: her siblings, Ocie Mae Williams, Cynthia Mitchell (Luther), Darlene Harrison (Milton), Robert Abney (Henrietta) and Vonza Abney; her daughter Brittni Shepherd; her son-in-law Melvin Shepherd; her grandchild Jordan; and her son Zoey (Yara).

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Jerusalem Baptist Church (21180 Bagby Rd, Bowling Green, VA 22427). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
