It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William David Ballard of Boydton, Virginia, who passed away on December 30, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nathan and Sarah Anne Ballard. He is survived by: his siblings, Dr. Lewis Ballard of Chapel Hill, NC and Shirley Ballard of Huntersville, NC.; his wife Trudy Ballard; and his children, Debi B. Smallwood (Andy), Roxanne Ballard (Tony), Sherry B. Gill (John), Chris Ballard (Lora) and Amanda Watkins. He is also survived by grandchildren as well as 21 amazing great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
