He was predeceased by: his parents, George Louis Major and Mildred Abernathy Major; and his son David Anthony Major. He is survived by: his wife Pansy Cogdill Major; his children, Brenda Gale McMillion, George Lewis Major, Daryel Wayne Major and Thomas Jackson Major, Jr. (Teresa Varner); his grandchildren, Chelsie of Chastity, TJ, Barbara Ann, Caitlin, Sara, Dustin, Olivia, Lacey, Christian, Kasey, Emily (Zachary) and Jackson; and his great grandchildren, Brendan, Payton, Emily, Lauren, Brandon, Layla, Lily, Maddie, Jay, Lexie, Jake, Tessa, Preston, London, Cannon and Owen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Blackstone Chapel of Joseph McMillian Funeral Homes (1826 Cox Rd, Blackstone, VA 23824). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. John's United Methodist Church (17502 Namozine Rd, Amelia Court House, VA 23002).
