He was predeceased by: his parents, Cameron Gilbert and Gladys Gertrude Moats (Strother); and his siblings, Floyd, Roscoe, Eldon (Cynthia), Loretha, Blanche, Geneva and Ruby.
He is survived by: his children, Jada Rasheeda Moats of Staunton, VA and Jai Rasheed Moats of Staunton, VA; and his siblings, Clara Mae Johnson of Staunton, VA, Otis Moats (Patty) of Staunton, VA, Clarence Moats of Franklin, WV and Charles Whitney Moats (Faye) of Franklin, WV. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
