He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Vinton and Willie May Southard; his siblings, Charles, Oliver Southard, Phyllis Tutwiler and Janice Chapman; the mother of his children Alice Shull (Dott); and his son Hugh Southard.
He is survived by: his son Mike Southard (Pam); his granddaughter Mariette (Brice); his children, Melissa Anthony and Ben Southard; his grandchild Skylar; his daughter Sally Justice (Bill); Sallie Bedall (Chuck), Cory (Dave), Ryan, Cole and Will. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
