He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilmer W. Simmers, Sr. and Eva Mae Simmers (Trobaugh); and his brothers-in-law, Bill Baker and Mike Dyer. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Simmers (Glick); his children, Cheryl Harmon (Lee) and Alan Simmers; his grandsons, Colton Harmon, Tyler Simmers and Matthew Simmers; and his siblings, Gary Simmers (Linda), Shirley Baker, Judy Swope and Wilda Dyer.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service (208 S Main St, Bridgewater, VA 22812). A celebration of life was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Service Inc (208 S Main St, Bridgewater, VA 22812).
