Edward Dalton Carpenter Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edward Dalton Carpenter of Brightwood, Virginia, who passed away on January 28, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Alfred Carpenter and Sarah Ellen Fishback Carpenter; and his brothers, James "Jimmy" Fishback Carpenter (Juanita), Ronald "Ronnie" Owen Carpenter (Anne) and John Richard Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Hensley Carpenter; his daughters, Sharon Carpenter Rock (Chris Summers) and Dee-Dee Carpenter Graves (Carl Graves); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Rock Breon (Dustin Breon), Megan Miranda Ingram and Jon Edward Dalton Ingram; his great grandchildren, Kendall Kaisa Ingram, Scarlett Rain Ingram and Colton James Breon; his sisters, Doris Mae Morris (late Doug Morris) and Donna Sue Tompkins (Russ); and his sister-in-law Peggy Kiblinger Carpenter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be sent in Eddie's memory to the Bethsaida Cemetery (attn: Bev Brown 1005 Henrick St, Culpeper, VA 22701) or the Little Fork Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co., the only volunteer Technical Large Animal Rescue Team in the Commonwealth of Virginia (6011 Rixeyville Rd., Rixeyville, VA 22737).
