We announce the death of Carol Jean Sword Nutter in Bristol, Virginia, who passed away on June 28, 2026, at the age of 71. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Sword and Oakie Sword; and her nephew Joshua Sword. She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Rusty "Pappy" Nutter; her sons, Tim Nutter (Windi) of Saltville, VA and Ryan Nutter of Bristol, TN; her siblings, Kyle Sword (Lesa) of Saltville, VA, Ricky Sword (Stacy) of Saltville, VA, Kay Frye (Jody) of Saltville, VA and Cindy Sword of Saltville, VA; her brother-in-law Joe Nutter; her grandchildren, Joshua Nutter of Florida, Jackson Nutter of Saltville, VA, Bailee Nutter of Saltville, VA, Madelon Nutter and Will Nutter of Bristol, TN; and her friends, Teresa Crawford, Wayne Venable, Sue Taylor and Mendy Johnson. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
