It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles R. Whicker of Bristol, Virginia, who passed away on October 9, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus W. Whicker and Mabel Hudson Whicker; his wife Cynthia Whicker; and his sisters, Billee Jean Lynch and Brenda Griffith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carole Gabel of Brandon, FL, Cheryl Milhorn (Jack) of Blountville, TN and Marlene Pemberton (Mike) of King, NC; his sister Phyllis Wright (Mickey) of Bristol, VA; and his grandchildren, Patrick Gabel, Donald Gabel (Nicole), Justin Gabel (Laura), Chuck Milhorn (Celeste), Jackie Bragg (Michael), Brian Milhorn (Mary) and Chris Combs (Sarah). He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mountain View Cemetery (1019 Valley Dr, Bristol, VA 24201).
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Bristol Humane Society, 16222 Lee Hwy., Bristol, VA 24202.
