He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Miles and Marie Richer Miles; and his brothers, Larry and Kevin Miles. He is survived by: his children, Michael Patrick Miles of Abingdon and Jacqueline Marie Von Kundra (Derrick) of Winston-Salem, N. C.; his sisters, Ann Howard, Joan Smith, Judy Brown, Diane Miles and Elaine Watkins; and his grandsons, Leonidas and Octavian Von Kundra.
