He was predeceased by: his father Jesse Clarence Smoot, Sr.; and his sister Wendy Mosley. He is survived by: his spouse Monda Smoot; his sons, Jesse Ray Smoot and Anthony Smoot; and his siblings, Richard Smoot (Angela) and Rebecca Conaway. He is also survived by several half-brothers and half-sisters and several nieces and nephews.
