He was predeceased by: his mother Hazel Marie Shelton Cordle; his wife Susan Ann Smith Cordle; his son Jessie "Pumpkin" Cordle, Jr.; his grandson Johnny Washington Cordle; his stepmother Virginia Cordle; and his siblings, Carol Cordle, Patsy Sue Coleman, Linda Shelton, Lillian Osborne, Lillie Ann Lane and Lucky Joe Cordle.
He is survived by: his children, Johnny Cordle (Pamela) of Honaker and Marilyn J. Patty (Delmus) of Slidell, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Malachi Emilo, Micah Emilo, Kimberly Stump, Michelle Lester, Tamykia Lester, Corbin Lester, Tamion Lester, Nichole Fuller, Allie Dales, Braylen Stump, Brantley "Bam-Bam" Stump, Shaylah Reynolds and Natasha "Babygirl" Campbell; his close friends, Sue Dye, Carter Dye, Teresa and Cecil Atrtip; and his siblings, Tammy Street, Kathy Proffitt, Barbara Vandyke, Rick Cordle, Danny Cordle, Jack Cordle and Jimmy Cordle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in the form of donations to the Jessie Cordle Memorial Fund c/o Honaker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1620 Honaker, VA 24260 to help with funeral expenses.
